Manual Handling

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended in 2002) apply to a wide range of manual handling activities, including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974The regulations require all employers to provide information, instruction, training, and supervision so that their employees work in healthy safe conditions.

Course Aims:

To appreciate the requirements of the Manual Handing Regulations; understand the potential problems caused by hazardous manual handling operations as far as reasonably practicable; to assess any Manual Handling operation that cannot be avoided; to reduce the risk of injury so far as is as reasonably practicable.
