Today saw 41 candidates graduate from recent KDS Training Academies. The academies focus on not only the sector specific skills required for the workplace but also on building individuals confidence, self esteem and more importantly changing their lives. With the latest figures showing that Scotland has the highest unemployment rate of the four countries in the United Kingdom, this event marks a milestone in the work that KDS Training do not only in its native Renfrewshire but also throughout the UK.
This momentous occasion would not have been possible without the support of Wates Constructions, Renfrewshire Employer Support Service, Renfrewshire Council Activities Agreement, Code-Red Fire Safety, Bupa, Mochridhe, Cross-reach, SS Training, Pheonix Honda, Platform, Army Careers, The Edge Gym and David Lloyd.
Candidates graduated from the Construction, Care and Non sector specific employability Academies and also from the two innovative Youth Employability programmes. Featuring KDS's award winning, unique and innovative training methods, working with candidates on their sector specific, personal development and employability skills the Academies include Life coaching, skills identification, communication, confidence, interview preparation and a good helping of motivation and positivity have equipped candidates to move forward in both their personal and career aims!
Completing the Academy has been a great achievement for all candidates, some of whom have been out of work for 15 years. From thinking they had little to offer an employer these candidates are now approaching employers in person and making a fantastic first impression! For the first time in many years these candidates are all smiling at the future, with the knowledge and tools to go out and make their mark on the world of work!
