Today was a fantastic day for the Glasgow Academy, 8 candidates who started as individuals today graduated as a team! Each and every member has undergone their own personal journey within the 4 week rollercoaster of an Academy. The four week Academy has equipped them all with the necessary skills to secure positions and work within the care sector. Intensive personal enhancement work was delivered throughout the Academy by the Training Team and Stevie Kidd which developed confidence, self-belief and other soft skills specific to the individuals. This coupled with the Care Sector specific elements, including the Role of the Careworker, Introduction to Food Hygiene, Introduction to Infection Control, Health and Safety, Mental Capacity and Moving and Assisting of People and Objects, and the employability skills gave candidates the WOW factor at interview and on the Buddy day! All 8 members of the Academy have pushed their own limits and moved well out of their comfort zones to achieve goals and make changes to their lives they had previously not thought possible! A phenomenal journey! Some phenomenal changes! A phenomenal Academy!
