As austerity measures begin to bite and the unemployment rate reaches nearly 2.5 million nationally, one key figure has caught the attention above all others.
One in five (21.3%) of those aged between 16 and 24 do not have a job - perilously close to 1 million people. This has continued concerns about a “lost generation” of young people who are out of the job market and ill-prepared to gain meaningful employment in the short term or when the economy begins to recover.
Our unique and successful approach to multi-sector training for all age groups, including youth, means that we fight for today’s youth and ensure that they are not given degrading labels that stifle their life and employment opportunities.
10 young people, over a 16 week course, will undertake motivational, personal development, work experience and employability training to boost and enhance their confidence and skills.
Each candidate will be able to realise their potential working with our experienced training team and external agencies and local companies to smash through the barriers that have been holding them back to date.
