A highly interactive course, Ideal for those individuals who perform manual handling activities involving patients, the elderly, the infirm and those with disabilities. Looking at the bad handling habits people learn and why we need to ‘unlearn’ them, the course introduces an ergonomic approach which enables handlers to understand the ‘bigger picture’ to make better decisions when handling people.
This course also involves the requirements of the Manual Handing Regulations; understand the potential problems caused by hazardous manual handling operations as far as reasonably practicable; to assess any Manual Handling operation that cannot be avoided; to reduce the risk of injury so far as is as reasonably practicable.
