The Care Sector Academy, in partnership with the Glasgow Employer Coalition, Glasgow Works and Jobcentre Plus, saw all 8 candidates gain employment or have conditional offers to begin work later in the year.
The Academy covered mandatory core subjects such as customer care, understanding the importance of preparation, manual handling of objects, legislation, risk assessment, First Aid, interview techniques and mock interviews..
These core subjects were of paramount importance to ensure that each Academy candidate understood their job role and responsibilities.
However, each candidate can only be fully prepared for future employment if they are confident in themselves. The necessary skills knowledge without the solid foundation of a self-confident and happy person would have made the whole exercise pointless.
This is where the unique KDS Training approach to personal development raises our Academy above the norm.
Candidates were introduced to life maps, their wheel of life, soul searching, comfort zones and their circles of influence. They also follow our “Who Am I Model” programme to gain a greater insight into themselves.
Academy Candidates are taken to the David Lloyd Leisure Centre for a day where they are put through an intense exercise routine and participate in relaxation techniques. The aim of Mind Over Matter is to push the candidates to their limit and beyond their physical and mental boundaries. They start to bond as a team and the confidence begins to shine through!
Customer Service Workshop candidates will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of what customer service is, describe KDS group culture and have an awareness of core values and company mission statements.
They also have a personal development day with MD and NLP life coach Stevie Kidd.
In summary, over 33 years of unemployment were eradicated through our unique approach to training and life coaching. One of our candidates had never been employed but has now found a job after enhancing their skills and self-confidence through the Academy.
An excellent introduction for KDS Training in the Glasgow area, we look forward to a long and successful partnership.
